Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is about collecting, storing, analyzing and finally transforming data into strategic information so it can be used to make informed decisions for program management and improvement, policy formulation, and advocacy. At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- identify the basic purposes and scope of M&E;
- differentiate between monitoring functions and evaluation functions;
- describe the functions of an M&E plan & identify its main components
- identify and differentiate between conceptual frameworks, results frameworks, logical frameworks and logic models;
- identify criteria for the selection of indicators and they are linked to frameworks;
- identify types of data sources, collection, analysis and reporting
- describe how information can be used for decision-making.
